The Lucky Pig has just earned international recognition at IFFA 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious smallgoods and meat competitions, held every three years in Germany.

We brought home:

• 🥈 Silver Medal for our Kabana
• 🥉 Bronze Medal for our Smoked Chicken

These awards reinforce the passion that our team has towards modern butchery, and are a testament to the craft, care and uncompromising standards behind every product we make.

How We Got Here

IFFA (short for Internationale Fleischwirtschaftliche Fachausstellung) is the global benchmark for meat craftsmanship — judged by European experts with decades of experience. Every entry is scored on taste, appearance, aroma, texture, and technical precision.

To be clear, this isn’t a popularity contest. There’s no social media voting, no hype machine. It’s just the product, the process, and the panel.

We entered our kabana and smoked chicken earlier this year after scoring highly at national competitions here in Australia. Each product had to be shipped under strict conditions, made exactly to specification, and backed by technical documents to ensure food safety and authenticity.

Our kabana scored 48/50 — silver, and the smoked chicken followed with 44/50 — bronze.

To even medal at IFFA is a huge honour. To do so on our first attempt? Unbelievable.

IFFA is only held every three years — and we’re already thinking ahead to 2028.

This result has lit a fire under us. We’re refining our techniques, exploring new products, and planning our next entries. We want gold next time. But more than that, we want to keep building something that stands the test of time, not only an award winning single product, but a standard across our entire range.
